Protect & Prepare: Community Trauma and Resilience for Kids and Teens

You are invited to attend this free, online event on September 3rd, 2020 hosted by Signature Psychiatric Hospital and Tri-County Mental Health. This live, community forum will feature a panel of experts in child and adolescent mental health and trauma providing answers to your questions about how to support Kansas City youth during these pandemic times.

Panelists Include:

Brian Barash, MD
Chief Medical Officer at Signature Psychiatric Hospital and Psychiatrist at Comprehensive Psychiatric Associates (CPA) in Gladsone, MO. Dr. Barash is a Board Certified Diplomate in General Psychiatry and Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, and in Addiction Medicine.

Wanjiku F.M. Njoroge, MD
Faculty member at PolicyLab at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), Director of Education for the Department of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences (DCAPBS) at CHOP, Program Director of the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (CAP) Fellowship at CHOP, and the medical director of the outpatient Young Child Clinic (YCC) at CHOP. She is also a practicing infant/preschool psychiatrist.

Julia Thompson, PhD
Licensed Psychologist in the Division of Developmental & Behavioral Sciences at Children’s Mercy Kansas City and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UMKC School of Medicine. She specializes in the assessment and treatment of children exposed to traumatic stress and provides integrated behavioral health services through the CMH Clinic at Operation Breakthrough.
